Fault code p1332 came up... I reckon the camshaft sensor is on the way out for this reason, could be throwing that code up because its not functioning properly, vice versa hence the new solenoid as this code came up in the past not the one shown earlier

Which 8000k HIDs did you get? They are surprisingly non-blue. I'm looking at these H7Rs for dipped beam. I think I might get 3400k for more light and a better match for the foglights (which I don't intend to change). I'm hoping there's no "lights out" on the dash too, since there's no CanBus.

Yeah I thought theye were more 6000k but there definately blue tinted at night. The fogs were only 16 quid yet had the best packaging. Ill upload a night pic. Debating on the projectors whether to part with the money now or Hold out to be on safe side...wait for the bills to go I guess.. but a k&n is ordered

I'm sure our friendly PFS rep will be here shortly to clarify!

As for the projectors, if you're happy with the quality of light from the HID retrofit, you may feel you don't need to spend all that extra money on projectors just yet.

I've always heard that HIDs (even the R-types) and reflector/fluted lenses weren't a great combination for a clear cut-off on dipped beam, with beam scatter from the fluted lenses (I'm assuming you bought H7Rs). I'd been considering Osram Nightbreaker Unlimiteds, which are halogens, but if you think the HIDs work in a standard light I may try the ones I linked to earlier.

Hiya, I bought the killen springs from PFS for my C70.........although they got it down, I would still preferred another inch especially at the back. But for the money I have had no problems with them.

I got another solenoid today. It boosted much better... then I think it realised somethings wrong. :/ got same outcome again as the other replacement. This leads me to think either camshaft or timings out a tooth. I get akot of popping when revving and backing off. I have NO runni issues with old part, so possibly vvt has packed up and timings out? Bugging me now >:/

An update on the car. I had a volvo specialist come and time it in a bid for it working but nothing so head is coming off.i want to try and take the opportunity to get another turbo in place. I was thinking the obvious spoken about t5, but what else will be a straight swap, if any and codes?? I did debate the t4 turbo but is the. 5 a better option? Im not after silly power, anything around the turbo output of t5 or possibly more which will give me good returns after a remapped ecu. is 330bhp a realistic gain which t5 turbo injectors relapsed valves and a decent induction side with maybe future intercooler? Cars going to off the road for a couple months to get the mapping money there but I will start the head next week on my holidays from work... sad times

    Update:

I FINALLY got my act together with pay day round the corner and got on with head removal. I only spent shy over an hour on it and got all bar exhaust manifold off. Ill carry on with this tomorrow.

a couple parts were already loose like top mount but this soon turned my footwell Into a volvo breakers yard. All was good clean and easy. I split a couple pipe ends but I can easily replace these (breather pipes mainly under inlet)

the turbo heat shield I readaot on this as it was a PITA to acess one bolt. Im pleased so say after getting the correct size spanner ( :p ) and so lube it came off a breeze, quuck pushed left and upward angle pull and the heatshield slid straight out! chuffed to bits! Heres a little picture to role the time over... inlet looked nice a clean, some oil ripples not drops in intake pipe, but im now considering on just going ahead with the turbo swap whislt access is easy. The cars off road anyway so as long as it start up and revs ok, im happy. any ideas on what the clutch can take? Id aim for 320bhp which I hopes doable with this turbo and remap installed and couple other supporting mods. Im aiming to put the t5 turbo on, I did ponder the idea of a cartridge change to a slight bigger one than t5s but is this overboard? Thanks guys!

Ive finally had time to get the head off. The first obvious check was pistons. I was expecting to see some little nicks on exhaust side. But its the inlet side that was hit. My verdict is timing was out all along effectively advanced but it couldnt retard the timing enough, hence the cvvt fault and camshaft sensor fault. The valve are bent by the absolute minimal possible, enough to loose compression though on turn over. Did see one set of exhaust valves were abit worse to others, almost looking like metal flaking off. Anyway Heres some pictures

ive sourced a turbo and injectors from a t5 for £135 posted so definately having them. Once cars back together it will be havibg the exhaust made, and then remapped as and I will be an extermely h a ppy boy! stay tuned

Heres an update. I have all my parts. I managed to get euro down from £272 to £242 after messing up twice! Thats head gasket set head bolts auxiliary belt and timing belt kit. Bargin

Also have a cheeky 15g and t5 injectors to fit...

Found a sneaky little money saver so bought this!

and also sprayed my wheels in sparkling graphite metallic

    and on

    And finally this

I just need to wrap centre piece and itll be done. All will be put together gradually and once its hopefully done ill be getting the exhaust made and then remapped. Im hoping for the magic 300bhp but will see! Turbo and injectors are from a 1998 t5 which looks like its a different fuel rail. But ill have a closer inspection upon fitment

Looks good, but you'll struggle to get 300bhp with a 15g, you really need a 18T.
