I tried to buy mechanically sound as Steve will do the paint and this car was local, old disabled chap service every year 4k miles, he just couldn't park it for toffee. It's a celebration so quite loaded.

Cheap speed, put a boost gauge in Mbc, chip, 17 steelies 205/45/17 bilsteins and -40mm springs 320mm brakes 14psi, blues, so getting there, raiding my parts bin.

New 850r clutch and billet 19t or k24 I have both spare just undecided

I'm in half a mind to fit a t5 lump to mine. But at the same time I may buy a 242 from Europe to do it too.

A lot of work to do the 16v turbo engine it's easier to fit a t5 lump. Iirc you have to remove the balancer shaft as its prone to failure, not that it's terribly hard to do.

However European 940s came with the 16v turbo

Think you've got it the wrong way round fitting the 16v is really a pretty simple job the balance shaft isn't there any more as you use the 940 block all you need is another tensioner and some valve releafs cutting into the piatons

Yeah it's the valve clearance in the pistons that can be a pain, seen people make a terrible job of it.

If you want 500bhp ( possible with gt35 turbo and 16v ) then you'll be wanting forged pistons and rods. If you don't want 500bhp then stick with 8v turbo. Did you get both manifolds with the 16v head? And if you want an lsd I'd stick a Ford 9" back axle. Decent engine management too makes it a lot easier above 300bhp. That's my next step really.

Looking for 400hp I have a full 16v engine complete with every thing I think 400 will be on the verge of the original rods and pistons but will keep with them until I've got it up and running

What car did that axel come in and what engine management is wise

I'd go with the b234 engine and turbo it , I was looking into getting a J pipe made up using the na manifold for a twin scroll turbo. If you don't want the b234 short block I'll have it! The 1041 axle are on wentworth 940 (2 litre), or like mine early 960's which is meant to be the slightly stronger 1041k. The Ford explorers and rangers have the strong axle with an lsd already in. For 400bhp I'd (personally) put a hx40 on an 8v (or an evo 8 16g). Theres's one on turbo bricks - http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=304561

Running on E85 helps a lot but there's ££££ all petrol stations with it anywhere in the UK. The B234 may have skinny 9mm rods though! You definitely want decent engine mangement above 300bhp, probably megasquirt, vems, Haltec etc as the chips only go so far.

It's quite annoying ad many years ago I had a go locker sat around doing nothing so got rid as I thought ide never use it well lesson learnt never throw anything away

Yeah it was a shame but I needed the engine and other bits and Bobs I also promised the prev owner I wouldn't sell it on for making a profit as a whole so had no choice but to break but then again I doubt any one would want it without a engine lol
So now just waiting on log book coming back to guy with 240 and then I can tax it and pick it up
