    The new toy

Well as one is next to finished I did plan on starting the 240 but then this came up and well the itch happened.

Had it on the lift and found a few faults and that's it every thing else is really good

    First off
abs fault well there was bound to be a fault as some had chopped the wires and bust the sensors in their holders god knows what posses some one to do this.

    And the second one
    The joys of cut springs

All in all tho im really happy with it god knows what im going to do the first idea was to break it and use the parts I needed for the 16v conversion but its just too nice to break so going to store it for a while and see what happens first off is to take the wheels off and roof rack and fit the polaris wheels.
    The spec
Full top of the range cd spec
full leather with electric drivers seat and heated seats
    air con
    cruse control
    sun roof
remote locking same as later 850's
later 13mm rod red block engine
    great m90 gear box
5x 16" alloys soon to be sold
full galvo roof rack soon to be sold
Paint work in extremely good nick
and best of all 92k miles

P reg it might be lh2.4 as well.

Mine is 98 r reg, just made some 320 v70 p2 calipers and discs fit, under some 17 steelies, without spacers.

It's being painted at the moment but I'll update my thread when it's back with pics.

Have you got the locker diff?

Yeah its a 97 p reg I will have a look at the ecu through next week and see which one it is I was hoping it was a locker diff but its just a 1031 not too bothered tho as if I do decide to keep it in one piece I will fit a proper lsd diff in.

Loving it Being a P reg it will have all the nice refinements on it too.

My bro smashed his 940 up, but has another to transfer the turbo engine and other goodies into.

Oh and if you break it, I'll have the bonnet

I'm trying to do the 940 on a tight budget as it's a 4th car, just using what lying in the workshop and keeping it well under the spending radar lol, a proper LSD for mine is def a no, what the number for the Volvo locker?

you want to be looking for a 1041 which is a g80 locker which engages up to 25mph there is a locker mod you can do tho which will leave it locked for longer so have busted them and others have not I geuss its pot luck.
Tbh I need to do a lot of research on the tuning side as I've only maintained the rwd Volvos never tuned them ive just took a pic of my ecu which I will upload and hopefully its a 2.4 it does say 2.4.2 on it so I assume it is

I know there's a counter weigh you can remove or cut down to make it lock for longer say 40mph, so I've heard, not sure which I have.

You need to scrape the undersealer from the tag on the diff to see which it has if the tag is missing jack the car up and rotate one wheel by had as fast as you can shortly the opposite wheel should spin aswell
How do you tell if its lh4.2 then

quite a nice write up on that link but doesn't give a definite answer tbh I thought there would be much more info on the net as to how to identify lh2.2 from 2.4

I just bought as late and good as I could find a 98 car with 2 owners 118k, body had been scraped here and there but solid and bargain at £450.

Buying late it's all the new better hardware, I think yours will be 2.4

    from the link above:

The 740 and 940 turbos can be picked up for as little as 500GBP . For this price you can expect full leather interior, no rust, well looked after and a carefully driven model with service history and for a couple of grand more you can get 500bhp.

    In!
