Best way to flush PAS fluid?

I have seen a few methods on Youtube. Big syringe and suck it out. Undo pump return pipe and turn on engine so fluid pumps out (seems a bit risky to me) and there was mention of a drain plug on the rack.
What have you guys done that works well?
PS, ordered the Volvo fluid from the dealer. Normal stuff is a no-no it seems!

Yes, it must be LHM (mineral oil).
Never done it, so I cant help you. Thou mine will be done next month so I'll let you know if your haven't done yours by then.

I did mine a few years back....not a complete flush, but more like emptying the reservoir, running the car & then repeating.

I used a large syringe & measuring jug....quite straight forward.

The PAS fluid used and bought from FRF Volvo Swansea is the Pentosin stuff which is green in colour.

I helped my brother with his V70, we pulled off the return pipe and placed it in a large old bottle. we ran the car for a few seconds ensuring the reservoir did not get completely dry, fill it with fresh fluid and repeat. It's not the best method but it's easy enough.

Be warned that the fluid does come out at quite a rate!

I suppose more of the fluid would come out using this method, but I would be worried about knackering the pump. It would be just my luck!

You will definitely need a helping hand with this method. Do remember though that if the reservoir does empty there is still a bit in the pickup pipe so you have a slight lifeline there.

Yep, I did it this way too - suck out (I lost my cheapie baster, so I used a hose to suck the reservoir dry) refilled, ran the car a few days, then did it again. Proper Pentosin of course.
