    face lift 2004 V70D5

My cousin is looking at a D5 on eBay, I have told him we will go view it and read the codes, he has been told the airbag light is on, could this be a serious fault?
    Thanks

May just need clearing for example if the seats were unplugged with the battery connected.

I will copy and paste a txt from my cousin.
Looking at the mot history, was an advisory for the air bag light on in 12/2012, cars either been ran without test for 5 month or sorn'd as the next test is 06/05/2014 and the srs warning light was een oh the reasons for refusal, but yet it passed on 30/05/2014 with the same advisorys
    Thanks

Could be the clock spring behind the steering wheel, but without plugging it in you won't know which airbag the light's on for.

Your other alternative is to take the SRS bulb out.

So got these codes and couldn't reset the srs light. I did notice the rear offside back seat bolster wasn't fitted correct so I took it off to check the wiring but couldn't see anything, there is also no reverse lights the loom isn't even there. Could this be expolice?
    Thanks

And you can't take the bulb out of the SRS warning as it's the orange triangle.

I have just got those exact SRS pre tensioner codes today as I took the rear seats out without disconnecting the battery. Can it not be reset by VIDA at home, or is it a trip to the dealer?

It'll have an ongoing problem, rather than just pulling a plug with the battery attached.

Hope he didn't pay too much for it

First stop Kwik fit for the tracking and then put on one of your spare tyres.lol
At least his pal owns a large commercial garage to work in which will cost him nothing.
