    Thats much Better!!

Recently My wife travelled in the back seat of our explod V70, there were a number of times when I spoke to her but she did not answer, later she complained about how noisy it was in the back of the car and said there was so much noise the engine could have been in the boot. To date I hadn't realised that it was so noisy, as in the front seems very quiet.

So following the complaint I did a little research and ordered some sound proofing from The Sound deadening Shop.
I ordered a box of 20 sheets of Silent Coat 2mm mat, a box of 8 sheet silent coat mat door pack and 3 sheets of Dodo CCF9 closed cell 9mm thick foam, all had self adhesive backs.

I applied the Silent coat to the whole of the rear wheel well, boot floor, inner rear arches and also some on the inside of the rear wing, then over this I applied the CCF9 to the whole of the rear wheel well and boot floor, before re installing the trim panels. At present I haven't yet done the rear doors or under rear seat.
Once complete I got the wife to sit in the back of the car while we went for a test run, no more complaints, she could hear every word I said in the front of the car, I too could also tell the difference in the front, much quieter, here are a few pics of before and after, kids wont need DVD players turned up loud any more.

I would recommend this upgrade to any one that does a lot of miles a year in there car as it makes it such a nicer less tiring environment on long journeys.

Wonder if it's with doing in the s60? One thing I hav noticed about theese compared to the Beemers is that you can hear everything rattle about in the boot! So surely I'm hearing road noise aswell!
