    Unhappy Mass air sensor location

    Hi there i seem to be having some problem lactating my mass air sensor on my 1998 volvo v70 i have take the air box of and taken out the air temp sensor thinking that it was the mass air sensor it seems to me there is know other wire connection on there other then that, so where is the mass air sensor located, all the info i have shows that it connected between the air box and the hose but not on my car can anyone help ,looking at the pictures the sensor has quit a thick wire with a five or a six pin plug on it so must be there some where , any help would be very much appreciated Ged

    Yes i know but not on my car,my air box has the hose attach t to it with only the air temp sensor on it very strange but thank you very much for you in put, Ged

    Might be ME7 on a 98 plate but the maf would still be in the same location. I didn't think the older cars had a temp sensor on the inlet?
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    I think the naturally aspirated cars did, but even so should still have a MAF in the same place.

    M4.4 has a inlet air temp sensor.

    That is the air inlet temp sensor

    What is your engine code...if the fourth number is a '2' (like B5252S) your car won't have a MAF

    Looks likes like my engine has not got one, so what have i got instead as the engine tick over is behaving like it is my M A S,just a point i was thinking of cleaning the throttle housing next could this be my problem, many thanks for valued help, Ged

    If the engine code is B5252S, you will have Fenix 5.2 system so just a MAP and intake air temp sensor, no MAF.

    You can make an LED code reader for your car - might help you diagnose the problem

    Many thanks for the info very us full, i think i will clean the throttle housing first and then look else where,the car idles irregularly sometimes other then that its running ok anyway lads thank you again this was a good help to me Ged
