What, oven cleaner used on the car?

Not seen it mentioned on here before and I'm sure that a lot of people will already know, but I read about using oven cleaner on corroded/dirty tailpipes. Out with ours and after doing 2 cars, it definitely works a treat even after only being left for a short time. Sorry, no pics as I had very dirty hands due to the crud removed and could not use my phone...........

I buy alloy wheel cleaner, but maybe don't need to.........

Think I'll experiment with a spare wheel first though. Our cleaner is some Costco gel stuff.

Back when we were 20 it was all about how big ya back box was & how many car alarms we could set off. Mums kitchen lights underneath & dodgy numberplates galore.

Back when I was 20, I think car alarms were very few and far between.

Just polish the tips up with 2000 grit wet n dry, then just use detailing spray to wipe clean with a microfiber cloth when you wash the car. Easy!

I clean my tailpipe with microfibres cloth after doing the wheels. Painted alloy wheels should be treated the same as the paint on the car, 2 bucket method etc with a separate mitt for cleaning the arches.

    I use brasso on mine.
When I got back from the last softies meet, I realised I hadn't buffed the pipes after applying the brasso and they'd gone an interesting foggy-white colour
