    Volvo 854 BTCC in action

Not sure if everyone has seen this or not but it really got the hairs on the back of my neck sticking up, for me this car and it's 855 sibling were the reason I became interested in the BTCC and despite Volvo not wining the championship until the launch of the S40 BTCC car the 850 was what it was all about for me. Back then this car was the main driver behind my interest in the start of Volvo's break into the medium size car market with its first larger FWD car, what a great marketing campaign competing in the BTCC with the 850 worked out to be for Volvo, indeed it was a greater success story than actually winning the races ended up being!

I'd imagine a box like that would cost an eye watering amount! Worth every penny for flat shifts though

Russ was going to go that route when he was having troubles keeping the gear set in place on his 854, he found the company that did the exact boxes from the touring cars, they wanted something like £28,000 back in 2007.. God knows what they would want now...
