    TRACS Light not working

    Hi All,

When I press my tracs button on the dash nothing happens. I haven't tried diagnosing it yet but hoping its either the Switch/Dash Light. Any ideas as to what else I should check?

    Thanks!

The tracs system, and associated switch has to be the most pointless thing ever fitted to a car (even more so than the vase fitted to some Beetles). It would appear to do nothing whatsoever, on or off traction is the same, I've never felt it cut in on my C70, and all pushing the button does is bring a light on, but nothing else changes. May as well take the switch out, and throw it.

I think mine used to bog off the line with the TRACS on, mind you it was an auto so what Stribo said probably applies

Try spinning the wheels after pressing the switch once, then again after pressing the switch again

Or try a switch from a working one (not my car!!)

Ok cheers guys will try that. Might be going down the scrappy in few days anyways so will try a couple switches and see if it changes anything!

think it only works / lights up when the car is moving but under 20mph ..positive I read that somewhere ..it inhibits throttle for pulling away in snow / ice etc
