    Lift-off 'clunk' OSF P1 V70

Noticed recently, after a failed overtake (acceleration then sudden braking) that when i let off the accelerator, i get a clunk sound, quite noticeable.
also knocks on rougher road when on idle.
my first thought was top engine mount, being under pressure when the engine is working then knocking back.
but the engine seems fine, very sturdy.
It's a TDi by the way, 171k on it. Seemed fine before though, gets a bit of abuse mind
Any thoughts? Am a little concerned, although done near 200 miles in the last 2 days with it like that

My feeling is either Lower Torque Mount, Lower Engine Mount or wear to a CV joint.

engine feels very solid, but i'll try and check the mounts underneath.
CV is what I was a bit worried about, how would one check that?

It feels very much like driver's side front but that could be because that's whereabouts you're sitting!
But I can feel it through my feet occasionally
drop links seemed fine when I did the springs, although was a good 6/8 months ago
both top mounts been changed too

You'd only notice the CV on full lock (or less if they're really bad), sounds like the wishbone bushes to me.
