I phoned volvo for the price and delivery on the gear stick gaitor only to find it`s no longer avaliable.

So with a sheet of rubber and some industrial strength super glue I made my own gaitor.

Also changed the front discs and pads.

The Timming belt and drive belts finally arrived from euro car parts but the drive belts are twice the length they should be. Phoned them up and was told they where the right ones according to they records. So after measuring the old belts (10AX0888) I found the right ones but they are from a 83 vauxhall cavalier but as long as they fit who cares

Had to go to the Portsmouth branch of euro car parts to collect the right alternator belts.

While in the aera dropped in to see Steve and went down to Harris`s the breakers to see if they had a 940 lpt in as I could do with the radiator as mine leaks.
But managed to pick a 012 maf from a ferrari f355 which is a straight swap for the standard 940 maf.

Mounted both ecu`s to some 3mm aluminiun plate then fitted the injection ecu to the passengers side dash under the glove box. The ignition ecu was mounted to the dash by the steering column.

Once the both ecu`s where donnected I fitted a 12v bulb to each of the fuel pump supply wires. When nthe ignition was turned on both bulbs came on for a few seconds then went off, when the engine was cranked over both bulbs came back on. So it looks good for the fuel side of things just need to check the ignition side next.

Did a few hours work on the 240 today.

In readiness for the GLT rear axle I "hot bolted" all the rear suspension bolts and made sure all the brake line joints/nipples are not siezed.

    Wow it's progressing well

Did the 240 turbos not run K-Jetronic injection....not saying it's better than what you are doing, just a comment

From what I've seen on turbobricks the 240 turbos ran a mechanical fuel injection.

The later UK spec models had electronic fuel injection (lh2.2 )

The volvo, VW and even porsche K-Jet stuff is very well documented...renault stuff is all secret squirrel, you need to be in the masons to get any info. Or speak French.

Good volvo site below....no use to Rob of course he has gone all modern on this one

with the mods he's doing (19t, me7 blues, 80mm maf & a 2.5" exhaust) he should be knocking on the door of 300 brake.
