    Project 244 Turbo Conversion

Well had a hour or so after work before it got dark to give her a quick once over.

Managed to change the N/S rear wheel as the tyre was ££££ed as it`s been flat for ages.

Went around seeing how bad the rust is, apart from the hole in the N/S rear seal and a few small holes in the spare wheel well the rest of the rust "looks" like it`s only surface rust.

The paint is flat and I`m going to keep that way, I`m going for the tatty but mechanical sound look

The engine oil looks ok and the engine turned over by hand,

    And the fleet.

I`ve spent 4 hours trying to start the car,

I`ve stripped and cleaned the carb as the floats had stuck to the bottom of the float chamber.

Removed and cleaned/gapped all the plugs.

Cleaned the dizzy cap and rotor arm.

She tries to start but only on cylinders 1 and 2, I`ve got a spark on 3 when the plug is sat on the engine, but I`ve got no spark on 4.

I`ve checked the all plugs and have a spark when the plug is sat on the rocker cover when using plug lead number 1

I think the HT leads are fubar`d so I`ll get some new ones and fingers crossed.

    Now do I get these,

    Or these,

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PROSPARK-O...item4d151261a4

Well now it`s a battery I thought I would check the lights etc and the only thing that doesn`t work is a fog light bulb.

I tried your steel rim on the front and back,

When fitted to the front the rim is "kissing" the suspension leg.

They was plenty of clearance on the rear

New leads arrived today and as I finished work a bit earlier I thought it would be rude not to fit them and see if she`ll start.

Well no she still won`t start, I`ve even flattened the new battery trying to start her.

I`ve got a spark on all 4 plugs and all the plugs are wet after trying to start it.

I think I need to do a compression test.

It tries to fire on cylinders 1 & 2 but not on 3 & 4

When I removed the plugs from 1 & 2 they where black, so it could be running rich.

This could be why it`s not firing on 3 & 4 (fuel putting out spark)

As for sensors it`s got points and a condensor
