    S40 T5 what years?

Looking for a new car. Almost settled on a Mk5 Golf GTi...
Having seen Wobbly Dave's S40 pics I realised I never considered one. I'd want a facelift 2008 car or newer. Is there a T5 in the facelift model? There isn't a single one on Autotrader.

S40 T5's are rare to begin with, let alone the facelift ones I had a 2005 - 54 plate S40 T5 in 2009, it was a good car and with it only being the "sport" model, it had a basic spoiler, basic wheels and bodykit, not like the newer R-design ones. for that reason it was a nice sleeper as it looked like your usual 1.8!! I wish I could have kept the car and done some mods to it, but buying a house at the time meant it had to go

I see. Never mind. I fancy giving one a try though. I'll keep a look out. Only 4 T5s on Autotrader nationally at the mo.

Cheers. Looking for a <70k car really. If I use it like the S60 it is replacing I'll probably keep for 7-8 years and 100k.

That is what I'm thinking. Quite fancy a bit of that.

I got about 250 bhp with a a map, increased to 266 bhp with an exhaust it took a bigger induction kit and an upgraded ic and a 3 inch down pipe and sports exhaust and custom map to get to 300 bhp and 350 lbft. These engines have more bottom end than other bigger turbo t5s and they feel a bit more normally aspirated beyond 5-5500 rpm but they perform and handle well and can pull away quite well from the bigger older T5s with the bonus of better handling :-)
