    I had some Kilen 40mm lowering springs on my old T4. Got them from PFV, dunno if they still do them. It sat pretty low on them, I was pleased. I ran them with Bilsteins (I think, it was a fair few years ago). Was a fairly decent set up I had, and I did track it.

    Fank ooooo.

    I actually owned that car twice. I bought it when it was less that 3 years old, and I was 19! It was immensely fast when I was that age, and back then not every other car on the road was 200bhp. I had it for a couple of years, sold it to a family friend, then bought it back for peanuts a few years later. At which point I had the S70, and the modifying bug had got me! It wasn't overly mod'd, It was completely stripped out (proper went to town), suspension, exhaust, induction kit, bigger throttle body, wheels and strut braces. Dyno'd on 2 separate RR's at 225bhp. It was a lot of fun on the track. I took it to the ring once too.

    I think the best coilover's are KW's! As you're not left with an expensive rusty mess when you use your car in normal UK weather.

    I recognise those alloys from Ashley's S40 before he bought my 18's.

    I'm pretty sure i had that setup on my t4. Seemed pretty good on the road to me.

    Can't remember tbh mate, it was such a long time ago, it may have been PFV as well.

    Hi Lee,

    Don't buy the cheap FK's mate, honestly they are crap. I made that mistake (as have many others), spring rates are awful, they bottom out all the time, rattle and knock, kill top mounts and the droplink bracket welds snap when you go nice and low. I changed the springs on mine costing over £150 extra in the end, needed new topmounts as they were destroyed. This improved the ride but they still rattled even with new droplinks and topmounts. Finally gave up when the bracket for the droplink snapped and the droplink wedged in my wheel! Here's what they cost me:

    Fk's £120 (on offer)
    Droplinks £30.
    New coilover Springs £150.
    Topmounts £80.

    Gave up on FK's

    H&R springs £180

    Total =£560.

    My advice is buy H&R lowering springs as they ride lovely and are of the highest quality.

    If you want to go even lower, save for some proper coilovers.
    Grey 855R Manual. Totally standard.
