Vax carpet washer (the old-style one with the long hose and the water pipe). Mix some motorbike cleaner (Muc-Off or CB25) with water and spray the carpets, leave for 5 mins then Vax it. You can do the seats this way too.

Those foaming spray things like Vanish carpet foam aren't worth the money as they'll still leave dirt and chemicals in the upholstery.

Your mats can be bought on eBay for £20 a set (all 4) with the button clips. They fit perfect as I have a set!

Regards the carpet.....i would do as Martin said OR get a mobile carpet valet round....you know, the ones that clean carpets and rugs in your house!

BTW, Volvo sell a set of 'winter' mats for your car that are plush black. I now have them fitted in my car. They are very thick and protect the carpet very well.
Personally, I run a set of 'Atacama' mats in the summer and fit my black winter mats when the leaves start falling off the trees.

You'll probably find alot of the black is actually wear and can't be removed in it's entirety, although with a hot water extraction machine you should see an improvement.

I put my Atacama mats in the washing machine on a warm sport shoe cycle with liquid detergent not powder. No fabric conditioner and they come out like new!
You just need to dry them flat for 48 hrs before fitting in the car.

If they are just £20 on eBay probably by a set, and get some winter ones as well.
