    2.9 S90 into a 264 ?

    Hi
Has anyone attempted to put the straight 6 and M90 gearbox in a 240/264 shell
I got a low mileage S90 and was thinking of a block swap in to my 78 264
    Any ideas ?

Where do those symbols come from?

Any way, basically what you have there is an early T6 block. if it runs simple electrics like a dizzy and throttle cable then you're in with a chance but I doubt it'll be a simple swap tho.

    I fancy putting on into a 164.
It has been done in a 240 but a lot of 260 bits are used to the 260 is a better base. You will want to use a standalone engine management or you can even fit a distributor and carb if you want simples

Personally though, if you want a whiteblock I'd put a 2.3 T5 engine in. Its an easier transplant (shorter block), its more powerful in std form (bog std T5 220bhp, bog std 3.0 24v 200bhp), plus I was quite disappointed with my 960s - the engines are super smooth, but don't rev up very quickly. A bit lumbering to be honest. I'm sure a decent gearbox and a lightened flywheel would help loads, but...

Nah, I wouldn't bother. Tune up a B230FT/FK - an even easier update with better results. IMHO
    Currently - '96 850R auto

    Previously - '97 S70 T5 manual, '98 V70R AWD auto, '98 V70R Auto in Nautic Blue Mica with LPG (went to Germany!), 1996 850R Auto, lots of various 940s, 960s and a crappy 850 2.0

The 3.0 24v is a strangled engine with the manifolds and exhaust .its been said that if you change those they are good for 300 bhp in standard form .you can also fit the earlier cams that are abit more lift too.just putting a decent exhaust and manifolds are worth atleast 40bhp on there own .and you can retro fit the bmw inlet manifolds too

pretty straightforward to install, you will need a 260 front anti roll bar.

As it is a 260 you should already have the 260 ARB.
If you do go ahead someone on the VOC forum is looking for a 260 engine

stick in T6 twin turbo! massive potentiall! get rid of the twins and put in Big single.
Straight in to 940, with all the conversion parts available from sweden, 240 requires inner arch work.
    N/A version, I dont know..
