    Strut top mounts ?

Heard some talk about strut top mounts/spring seats recently. I agree that genuine top mounts are probably best, but heard xc90 as an upgrade from the spring seats, but are they any better, does anyone have any real info on them being better ? As I'm just about to change the Guls suspension (not because it needs it, its just I have a nice set of Koni's on the shelf here (Thanks Neal)) and was going to change the mounts whilst I'm at it.

I'm pretty certain the only ones you can get from Volvo are the XC90 ones now

I have them on mine, can't tell you what difference they made though!

Gotta do mine soon. Interesting to see if there's any difference with the XC mounts.

Mayle might do HD ones. Bilstein do some but I've read they're not as good. I imagine IPD have had a crack at it too.

Xc90, top mounts springs, top bearing mounts and rear subframe brackets are all upgrades.

I've heard that the IPD HD ones are just XC ones anyway, dunno if it is true though.

ipd ones are not the same as xc90 , there are a couple of places you can see its reinforced.
there is only 1 type from Volvo, I haven't heard anything about them all being from an xc90 .
meyle ones are not hd for this part.
my preference on these is :

    ipd heavy duty
    genuine Volvo
    meyle
    others .

the rubber seat is a part I have had poor versions in the past so I am very picky with them.

the metal plate with bearing, get from us defo - ours are half the price of Volvo .

A lot of the aftermarket ones are rubbish and do not last. Not tried the IPD ones so no idea how good they are. Gen Volvo are good but life is limited. I have considered making something I've not managed to come up with a working design yet

    This is correct.
The XC90 spring seat supersedes the previous part numbers.
It's a heavier duty spring seat - you wont experience a handling improvement but it will have a longer service life.

Strut mounts are fine in INA or Genuine Volvo and the spring seats are fine in Boge or Genuine Volvo too.
Avoid the unbranded ones or the 'Pro Parts' or 'Scantech' options and you'll be fine.

You got any links where to buy from in the UK? All I can find are Febi and others PPS etc but not Sachs/Boge.

A link would be handy as I'm just about to change my shocks and springs and I'm hoping to fit some top mounts that are going to give a nice long service life.

Really?? i believe that tobe incorrect, They are apart of the Bilstein Group see there group companies >> http://www.febi.com/febicouk/company...-websites.html

Thats not taken anything away from them, There are a very good Oe manufacture and equally as good as Sachs/Boge which are a ZF company, in which as also recently aquired TRW (Lucas) as it used to be.
