    Missing boost

When i bought my teal R last week the owner said it wasnt mapped, anyway when i drove it it felt pretty quick (but i have been driving diesels lately lol) anyway i thought that the rolling road would tell me, it made 252bhp which is bang on what an 850r is supposed to make but it was boosting towards the end of the turbo gauge, anyway i just realized i had a standard t5 ecu in my garage and 850r's can run on any t5/r ecu so i put it in went down the road and it was only boosting 1/3 into the white when a standard car should be 1/2 into the white on the gauge so a good 2-3psi down? so my car is remapped but obviously has a slack actuator which ill deal with once its cooled down, bit gutted as it should have made around 270 plus yesterday. anyway was quicker than gavs e320cdi on the motorway yesterday lol (just)

Best to steer clear of MBC's Frankie as we all know your a boost hungry driver and you'll find the limit of the engine in no time and that would signal the end of yet another 850R lol

Sounds about right to me for a standard t5 ecu. Mine with a new BCS and the actuator at 3.2psi (think it was that) boosted 1/3 then moved to almost 1/2 around 5k.

he didnt until 10 miles later once he'd caught up lol, i was cruising at 70 on the way home

Tbf he's 850r went very well, the Merc does have flat spot in 4th high up at 5,000rpm due to being a Derv all the power is low down. Had i hooked 5th gear the R certainly wouldnt had been anywhere lol

You was gaining buddy as i had to lift off then replant it due to vegtibles being in the way , she hung onto 4th too long going up that cabbage patch lol and wouldnt shift up till it levelled off. Still trying to get the hang of the tiptronic too, why it feels the need to hang on like that and over rev i dont know. pmsl

I get a little bit more than that on full tank.. Feels like we're constantly filling up when on a trip!

My tuning specialist did say to me that MBC's are a really bad idea because they force the engine to hold a boost level regardless of whether it can take it or not. He said the result is instant damage.

    I agreed with him.
