engine woes

Hello Everyone

Well Ive had 4 months of happy ownership and the honeymoon is officially over. Had a quick blast down our local bypass and when I pulled up on the drive I noticed the car had developed a rather nasty knock.

I took the sump off and the oil pick up was blocked by some lovely stringy bits of black mastic!!!!!

When you put the stethoscope on the sump when it was running the noise was loudest from number5 area. This made sense as its the furthest away from the pick up, took the conrod shell out and it was worn so ive replaced them all and was really hoping this would cure it but it looks like its affected the main bearings as well so im in need of an engine now.

My question is - What engines fit my car? Is the v70r/t5-r engine the same?

Anything pre me7 (with throttle cable manufactured before 99) should fit.
I bent number 5 rod with a bit too much boost.

Actually you can fit me7 engines as well, as long as you use all your ancillaries.

Post 2002 engines have a stronger bottom end and lighter crank too
