    t5 rods

Pretty positive my 19t has bent my rods?

im going to sorn it for a bit and get it sorted but not sure of the best plan of action is, I don't particularly want to get a bigger turbo so not sure if forged rods are the way forward or overkill or if maybe fitting an me7 bottom end is possible/strong enough? any ideas as im not sure what to do, got an 850r clutch to fit too

    Cheers

You have a few opinions of what to do.

    1. find another engine

    2. fit a complete ME7 engine.

I spent quite alot of time porting my head and fitting a ported japanifold exhaust so ideally would rather swap the bottom end out, I know all my valve seals are in good nick too

Fair enough, ill send you my pressure tester for the actuator when your done so you can set it at 7ish psi which is what it should be and avoid another mishap

Why would you want to put a 850 head on a ME7 bottom end.

The ME7 head flows better & has larger ports than the 850 head.

Complete (lowish) mileage engine with all new Volvo timing belt, tensioners etc. Be a shame to split it

A ME7 engine can be made to run a dizzy. Stopping the VVT is just a case of blanking them off.

For the VVT delete have a read of my ME7 thread

wow that does sound good, I think i will try and strip mine down over this next week and see how bad it is and if i can get away with fitting forged rods, engines only done 120k but if it looks a mess ill take you up on the offer if you still have it, thanks mate!

on another note what are the chances its just a bent rod and not done any other damage?
