    clutch woes

    hi everyone hope you had a good weekend, now to the point my clutch is playing up it doesn't seem to be slipping but for some reason my clutch pedal has gone really low I mean a inch of movement if im lucky seems to be a bit gritty going into gear as well but I put this down to whatever is wrong with the clutch as both started at same time any ideas guys before I start thinking I need a clutch its on a s70r 1997 cheers guys

    Give it a bleed and go from there. Has it left a puddle on the driveway?

    no no leeks anywhere checked all piping and cylinders dry as a bone whats best way to bleed it ive only ever seen it done on a p2 R is it the same cheers

    Yeah, there should be a bleed nipple on the pipe near the slave cylinder.

    Just make sure the fluid is kept topped up right to the.top when bleeding do not let it drop not even a few mm as it won't bleed

    I would if I could find the slave cylinder after a hour of searching its no where to be found any ideas?

    If.it's not on top of the gearbox front of the engine bay then it's internal and your in the sorry gearbox off job big headache

    front of engine bay?????????? I didn't look there just all round gearbox assumed it would be attached to bell housing somewhere I didn't think the R was a internal cylinder another one of Volvos we'll just put that there on this one I take it

    Can't be an internal if it's a '97R can it? too early.

    Where the bell-housing meets the block, same height as the starter motor (roughly).

    no worries cheap at halve the price considering what Volvo would have charged me and the fact you saved me looking like a right numpty when im arguing with them that there isn't one lol

    You'd have had fun finding mine.

    It's internal.

    Bleed nipple is in the same place though.

    I bet, this wasn't exactly fun on this as I managed to snap one of the nipples of my boost solenoid thingy in the process so that's another 70 chucked into a job that this morning was looking like a quick cheap thing to do I've stormed in the house 4 times today shouting that's it I'm selling it lol

    Which port did you snap off? if it was the return to the air intake, don't worry about it, just bung the tube up with a screw and some tape to stop it drawing air into the intake afer the MAF.

    Good opportunity to fit a bleed valve... bypass the TCV and save yourself a few quid

    was trying to avoid that as its been remapped but looks like a good option now but couldn't remember which pipe has to stay plumed into tcv
