I am no expert on injector flow rate or engine tuning in general, but surely the basic principals of fault diagnosis regarding fuel/ignition systems still stand here?

Black smoke is over fuelling no matter what engine is involved, no matter what state of tune?

Basic principal, throw a match on a pool of petrol and it will emit black smoke as it burns, heat petrol, or put it onto something of a lower flash point than itself and it will steam white.

Thus, black smoke out the back of a car is over fuelling from an ignition system that is obviously working pretty well otherwise it would not burn and emit the black smoke?

Thus plugs and coils etc must be in good nick? I would also have thought the car would be popping/banging through the exhaust with and spark/poor ignition issue?

Please correct me if I am wrong
