Have you had the rods checked for balance? I looked at the K1's for mine but yet to see anyone in the Volvo world to use them.

Why would I need brand new rods checking.
There's many people running k1 rods espically lots of 16v people who are running big power also wobbly dave and paul uses them in their t5 engines.

K1 are highly regarded as one of the leading manufacturers but most people don't like the price tag so use Chinese rods

Why wouldn't you? Lotta moneys worth of shiney parts to just throw together without even making sure they're fit for use! 99% of engine builders will balance the entire bottom end before use.

Where did you get them from if you don't mind me asking? Other than eGay specials and Sten Palmers from KG Trimning at eye watering prices there's not a lot of middle ground, I found K1's at about £480 which isn't too bad.

They come with a full test spec sheet and have each been fully tested.
They can be found at quite a few places on the net.

Got the trailing arms and wish bones back from blasting now to add strength.

Also got my angle iron to make the brake calliper brackets out of.

Got my new plates ready for strut brace.

And I think I've decided on a colour.

Shiny! Don't suppose you're relocating the oil filter are you? I can't find a suitable relocating plate anywhere! Plenty of sandwich plates for oil coolers but none to actually move the filter.

That's the brackets don't just need a clean up and plating

The oil filter is stick on the backward facing heat exchanger bit. To use the external oil cooler that was fitted to the b230et etc , it helps to have the older style engine mounting brackets. If you're tapping the oil drain the fitting is hampered by the oil filter placement. And if you notice the tube back to the water pump it is useful to have the ne shown as the b230fk one has the pipes coming off that loop round the oil drain to the heat exchanger.

All ready ahead of you the oil filter will be fitted with a sandwich plate then line to a external oil cooler.
The water pipe tha runs along the block is a new n/a one as no longer need the extra water ports
