    wheels... what colour?

Now that I've ordered new tyres, I'm thinking of the colour that I should get the alloys refurbed in. I was originally going to go with the std silver finish, as I was a bit concerned about the car looking too dark overall with anthracite coloured wheels.

Which do you think would look the best on my black V70?

NB I'm 99% sure I'll be keeping the Comets on the BoneWagon rather than swapping the satellites over - if that helps.

I love my wheels in the shadow chrome, but they need refurbing & I want to make the car look mine if you get me? It's a hard decision to make but dependant on the colour of the car. I say silver but with shadow chrome.

I had considered white as it happens - found these pics a while ago and loved the look

Mine would look identical as I have the eggcrate and jewel lights already on HotRod which I'll be transferring over. I'm just a bit concerned that they'll look scabby very quickly - and they'll need washing daily keeping a black car looking clean will be a challenge enough without having white wheels as well!

NB I'd also considered white racing stripes to go with the white wheels - something like this -

Not sure if that'd cheapen the look of the car or not?

Thanks all, I think I agree that the stripes are a no-no. As you probably gathered I wasn't sure they'd look ok on a V70 and you seem to agree, so thats not an option any more.

My current thoughts are that black on black would be too over powering on a big old barge like a V70, especially when I tint the windows and paint the grille etc. I had considered colourcoding the centre of some wheels like AcidicDave's in black but leaving a bright rim, but I can't afford another set of wheels to be honest. I've got to start controlling the cost of this project

So that leaves various shades of grey, silver and white...

EDIT - If Nealevo wants to donate these wheels to the cause, I'd happily fit them to the Bonewagon - they'd look pretty damn good on a black V70
