Two issues - related or seperate?

    Hi guys,

My first official post is a moany one im afraid!

Firstly - My fan is now constantly running from start up (P2 V70R) is this likely to be the fan switch, temperature sensor or something else?

Secondly - When accelerating there is a chirping noise which is pretty high pitched and therefore very annoying! Is this likely to be an air leak or ?

Lastly - Hello everyone, Im a moany VR owner

Previous owner claimed he'd had the AC condensor changed as the old one was leaking so I'll check it out..

Also think ill invest in the PCV kit to stop any leaks!

If there's a big enough boost leak, the ECU will run the fan.

Check the big boost pipes and connections for leaks, it'll explain the chirp and whistle.

I had the same problem on The S60 when the maf failed, try unplugging the maf and then switch the ignition on to see if the fan is still on.

I was looking at a 2008 T5 last night, owner smashed a badger and wrecked the AC. The engine fan runs at a constant 80% DC.

The chirp will most likely be a vacuum leak somewhere. Getting a smoke test done at a Volvo dealer fixed it on mine a few years back. If they haven't been done I'd just change the vac pipes for new ones.

Fan is no longer running - Thanks to Santa for his help! Car is still chirping though, very noticeable when cold less so when warm.
