I felt the boost in MRP's car earlier this year and it kicks in a lot sooner than my own T5.

James, I know you think a lot of your suggestions/ comments are beneficial, but seriously you haven't got a clue when it comes to a lot of subjects reference mechanics/ tuning and I'd hate for some newbie to come on here and take you up on your advice and do some real damage to their car.

I can give advice, it's up to others if they follow it or take notice. Plus, I'm hardly going to be mapping cars am I, I'd leave that to a specialist. If you don't like my suggestions then please put me on ignore (as I know some have) and stop giving me stick.

This is exactly what I was thinking on the tuning the lpt thread (but a bit more politely) and the tuning the t6, I appreciate the feedback james, but if they could be maybe based on something you've done or know of that would be more constructive, with a link perhaps. Do you have a bit of a problem understanding Volvos, because some of the comments could as mike says cause potential damage or just totally not correct and instantly show up with people who have some knowledge with them.

Wasn't giving you stick. Like yourself I'm entitled to give an opinion and my opinion is you should carry a health warning lol. Can you not see, you posting on things you no nothing about could lead to some serious damage to someone's pride and joy.
If someone started a thread asking if we had any doctors on here as he needed some advice on a heart condition for example, I'd only expect a doctor to give advice, but I bet you would jump in and say something wouldn't you? Same applies to engine questions, you have no professional knowledge so shouldn't say anything.

And you wonder why you rub people up the wrong way and they have a pop at you!!!!. read your own post and think about what could happen, I feel sorry for any newbie who reads your tripe and does follow it, as if it all goes wrong you don't give a sh#t going by your quoted post. That sort of think is well out of order and not beneficial to this forum

Forums are supposed to be insightful places and clubs are supposed to be formed of a group of like minded people.

Anyway, back to professionalism (sorry for the lapse) and an attempt to balance this out.
Again this is all very subjective.

    • James, your V70 may handle better than your S60. Actually comparing those two particular cars James own, I'd believe him.
    • What went wrong with the first post, was it in the writing or the reading? I've been asking myself this for the last 5 minutes. It read as almost a general comparison between the S60 and V70 (which would be dangerous as mentioned as someone reading the post may actually be left believing the "handling" of a V70 is superior to that of the S60 when things are like for like) though I know it can only be a comparison of those two particular cars James own, not factory fresh standard examples.
    • I find myself wondering what was the driving force between the original post. Was it supposed to be informative (though missing some information but not through malice) or an attempt at a genuine wind up?
    • Were some of the responses going slightly too far? Yes mis-information needs correction, it is why this site is a forum and not someones blog and ignoring each other doesn't help to serve a greater purpose. (Though to be honest I can personally see why some of the responses go beyond information correction).

Don't know, I need to bang my head on the brick wall a bit more me thinks. (Suggestions on a postcard though).

Playing devil's advocate, I'm sure JamesT5 has the best of intentions, but unfortunately hasn't got the practical knowledge himself, so just quotes info that he's read, unaware it's out of context.
