    Thumbs up What a difference

I've been driving the S60 to work mostly as you know, but just now and again I'll take the V70 T5 for a run. What a treat, I forget how well the T5 handles compared to the S60, it's a totally different driving experience. I can throw it round bends and it just sticks to the road like glue compared to the S60, although the S60 D5 has better boost from a stand still, it kicks in sooner whereas the T5 tends to have a more gradual power curve.

Just thought I should share this.

Would that have anything to do with the fact the T5 is fitted with half a ton of black poly bushes, and the S60 isn't. Once the S60 has been given the same treatment as the V70, it'll easily out handle it.

Do it, would love to see you waste the money you're supposed to be saving by having it. Oh and I'm surprised you haven't picked up on the fact that a Diesel engine is considerably heavier than the petrol engine therefore compromising handling by making it more nose heavy plus having the inferior interior should make it lighter too to even more nose heavy. MAP the D5 and put a huge inter cooler on it and updated anti roll bars and coil overs. Go on do it James you know you want to!!

A lot of people have more than one Volvo, but don't feel the need to start new threads full of drivel comparing their cars, I prefer my 850 to my S60, but I don't feel I need to start a thread just to tell everyone. I must admit it's been a pleasant week on vpcuk while you were on your 84 hour week.

Can I compare my 92000 mile petrol M3 to my new 7000 mile diesel Golf lol. I was very surprised that the golf does better mpg but doesn't go as fast or handle as well as the M

Well it does have an electric sunroof...

And in 18 months, it's cost me 250 quid including 4 tyres, 2 wheel bearings,a sensor and an MOT. That's cheaper than the tax on the v70.

The D5 has 340nm of torque, the T5 has 330nm of torque. If that's the difference between 10nm then hec knows what 70nm on a remap would be like.

But look how that torque is delivered......D5 delivers 340Nm at 1750rpm whilst the T5 delivers it from 2400rpm - there's the difference mate
