Having had both cars (quite a few S60s) all D5's, Id say the S60 is the tighter car, and the V70 is very floaty. Both have superb seats, both are superb in quality whatever spec. Ones thing that p**ses me off about the V70 is the rattles here and there from the rear plastics

Still love the old bus though

    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love

My S60 SE has leather leccy adjustable front seats but they aint heated !!
Prefer it to the V70 I used to haveeven though it was more practical for shifting things with.
Also have the centre arm rest with the can holders in it, pity the lid is knackered lol

Yeah but the R models are exceptions given they were marketed as sports versions of their respective models.

That comb-over is my trade mark Steve, a bit like the stickers on your bonnet.

I think I might e-mail Volvo UK for the manufacturer's official response to this. Could be interesting if I get a reply.

But an S60R is specced the same as a V70R, so how is that inferior?

Both are superior to their standard model equivalent because they were designed as the ultimate in luxury and performance in their day. It's like comparing a new S60 T6 to an S60 Polestar today, the Polestar will offer a superior spec to match the price tag and the demographic.

My opinion is that S60s are better cos the chassis is stiffer & I like saloons anyway. That has nothing to do with comparable specs though

I think the problem here James is that you own a poorly spec'd S60 unlike most on here which are perfectly spec'd......quite annoying tbh that you generalise that all S60s are Inferior to your V70.

I know you don't mean offence, and we all post some uttter tosh from time to time - but this thread wins you this Month's Tosh Award - Congratulations

Aside from the obvious differences and just concentrating from a driver's seat point of view both cars have exactly the same dashboard, the S80 is the odd one out when it comes to interiors.

The sound system in my dad's R is the same entry level R spec system as mine but it sounds better due to the shape of the interior, it sounds fuller.

Both cars have crap leg room but the s60 is worse but the rear seats in the s60 are a better shape IMO

That's not what you said when you made the stupid comment about S60s being INFERIOR to V70s. The S60R is still an S60 whether it's the high performance version or not. Quite frankly James your statement is just stupid. Not the first you've made and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Trademark? Apart from the fact I don't have them on there anymore they are hardly a trademark! I'd suggest your haircut is inferior to most peoples being that it's such a prehistoric style these days but each to their own. I'm sure there's a sporty combover marketed somewhere!

So in this statement you're still adamant that the S60R is inferior to the V70R??
