    Little test for you.......

    A little test for fun to find who is the best keyboard mechanic on here,

    I HAD a little problem with the green beastie today going down to give Steve a hand changing the tailgate on his 850R and popped down to the breakers to up some bits & bobs.



    Here are the symptons :-

    1. exhaust sounds deeper
    2. poping and backfiring more than normal.
    3. increase in fuel comsumption.
    4. NO boost.

    What is your thoughts on what the fault WAS ?

    1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

    Split intercooler?
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    actuator failure?
    Lambda sensor fell out?

    Boost issue, got to be turbo related actuator, damaged / waste gate.

    I would say recirc but im guessing your not using one lol.

    Come on then give us another clue

    the first 3 sound like the timing is out but that wouldn't explain the last one

    Those 3 plus LESS boost might mean knock sensor but I don't think that would kill the boost entirely

    The first 3 would indicate that it`s running rich.

    When trying to get the car to boost I didn`t hear any boost leaks.

    Should still get boost, and if anything it would run lean.
