    K24 turbo crack

I`ve got a suspected turbo housing crack but yet to be confirmed. It makes a funny noise when boosting and for a remapped car doesn`t feel much. Can these housings be welded or bought a new one at a reasonable cost or is this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-UR-Qu...item1e8fbb7704 a good option?

The K24 is prone to cracking near the wastegate port so expect to see one there. It doesn't often cause performance problems tho. Have you done a leak test to see if you have a split somewhere?

Have you tried a boost gauge? Check boost maybe simple things first?

Had no time to investigate as only picked it up last night. My rica300 map on the s60 seem to perform better than mte stage1(V70),same engines and turbos and the V70 less mileage.I know it desperately needs an oil change tho.

My s60r (if we're talking about p2) used to peak / over boost at 25psi and hold 19-20psi. Standard it was about 14.5 psi.

Yes it is P2.Funny enough I have that kind of problem with the s60 where when u floor it it really goes and goes into limp mode.I`ll probably spend the weekends just working on them as the s60 is most likely to be going for up for sale.

Yep, most of them do it but rarely cause a problem.

if its any help i brought a 16t with the wastegate crack, the crack itself wasnt an issue more the fact the two sides of the crack were warped so the wastegate flap wasnt sitting flush, i managed to machine the port flat so it did sit flush and never had any issue
