New ecu tuned by Oblark! Thank you Rob

I spoke with Rob last week about getting my 850 ecu tuned instead of going down the standalone route.

I gave Rob exactly what I was after over the telephone and how I wanted it

Rob has done the following for me
    1. Raised Rev Limiter to 7750
    2. Boost now at 18psi
    3. Launch control (nice feature)
    4. Less Mpg

The car is very responsive now where as before it seemed to feel quite laggy. I had a fiddle with the boost controller last night and got it set correctly to the map.
The torque on it feels almost diesel like but doesn't stop.

Will be getting it on the rollers to see what difference it has made and pass the info onto rob so if anyone wants it doing I can highly recommend Rob for service and quality.

How does the launch control work? Mines keeps the rpm to a set limit when the clutch is in, so the throttle can be floor'd while sat at the line & the rpm won't go over 4k (adjustable) till the clutch is released

Same thing mate, I think the ecu cuts the ignition. I've seen it in action to some extent, Rob doesn't like the idea of launching the car like that so he showed me a "dry run".

as far as im aware it is by the speed sensor as it is constantly activated until you start moving.

Launch control works by dropping a injector or two out to stop the engine reving above a set rpm, when the clutch is lifted lanuch control is switched off.

That will be similar to how the X40 T4 controls it`s wheelspin by DSA........it controls the injectors in 8 stages depending on how severe the spin.......but the difference is that the EMS2000 in the T4 will control launch and wheelspin on the move!

It can only knock the injectors out as the ignition uses a dizzy cap.

But I do have a map that does knock the ignition out and gives you FULL turbo boost, sends a hell of alot of smoke and flames out of the exhaust pipe.

I won`t be trying it out.

I`ve tried to find a video of the 850 with ignition launch control but it looks like it`s be removed.
