    V50 T5 improvements

Hi, just thought I'd share some bits and bobs. I had an issue with hesitation on the engine which I now think has been sorted by replacing the fuel pressure sensor, land rover part was £150 cheaper than Volvo one, funny thing is the land rover part has Volvo stamped on it! For anyone having running issues with their 2004 T5 engine, I would highly recommend replacing the FPS, for £50 and it's DIY job, no brainer really. I have my car booked in for a Terraclean next Wednesday and will be interesting to see if I notice any improvements, my car has only done 70000 miles, but a lot of that has been short journeys over the last 3 years of owning it, so my theory is, she will likely be coked up a bit. I'm also thinking of getting a Jetex SS exhaust system, though this sets me back £500 so might wait for the standard exhaust to fail first. Any thoughts or comments welcome Name: image.jpg

Hope the engine doesn't fall out, hanging upside down like that

I would expect to see a smoother graph than a significant increase in power. Possibly more torque high-up.

I had the K&N typhoon fitted about 2 years ago, I'm sure the turbo has been more vocal since which is nice :-) I never did say it was standard to be fair :-p

I do really like these. You get the nice bits of a Focus ST, but without the rudeboy bits.

I wonder, do people have clutch trouble when you start tweaking? It seems quite common that once you remap a Focus ST, and do intercooler/exhaust etc, you soon seem to run into clutch slip!

I'd be happy with that given the mods.
I have an ex work mate with a franchise of terraclean, he spoke very highly of it.
Given I'm buying another volvo I think he may have to do it on my new car.

Mines still on the original but if you load it it does slip but I haven't loaded very much last time was against an insignia Vxr I'm sure a days drag racing would kill the clutch

Looking good but a good remap would pay dividends my guess would be 265 bhp and 320 lbft pre exhaust, I posted mine up as I had it tuned under project stealth :-)

Terraclean done, just waiting for Friday to come round for the next rolling road run. On a separate note, has anyone ever replaced their standard steering wheel with an r design equivelant? I have seen one on eBay that's come off a C30, I assume it will fit onto my V50? The air bag section is also not included, will I be able to put my current one in its place?
    Cheers for any advice

Looks like the Terraclean produced a net change of zero.

Curve is no different, but peak power is obviously higher with with lower ambient temp.

    Definitely an interesting comparison though.
