At MK there are three age categories, to drive with adults you need to be over 16 though no special license is needed.

Jack will be 17 on the 4th october mate

Daytona at mk used to be the james hunt racing centre when it first opened. they had single seater formula ford style cars you could drive.
my dad's mate used to be the manager when it opened and he got a free session.

As I had quite a response showing an interest in this I called 'Daytona' at Milton Keynes this morning for some additional info, basically we could have sole use of the track for their 'Daytona Challenge' which consists of all race gear, safety briefing, trophies for the top 3 drivers and a podium photo presentation plus the following racing action :

Daytona Challenge
This exciting multi race format is perfect for groups of mixed experience and ability with 2 qualifying races and plenty of opportunities to move up the leader board. Each driver will take to the circuit for a short practice to warm up, learn the circuit and get used to the 50mph twin petrol engine karts. We then grid up for 2 individual qualifying heats with rotating starting positions – in race 1 if you start at the front, then in race 2 you would start from the back…
This gives all competitors a real chance to end up on pole position for the Grand Final – all drivers qualify.
10 minute practice for every driver
2 x 10 minute heats races
15 minute Grand Final
£62.50 + VAT (£75) per driver for the first 20 drivers
£46.88 + VAT (£56.25) per additional driver, maximum 30

There is an option for a cheaper package but this would only be for a 10 minute practice followed either by a 20 minute race (£50 inc vat) or 30 minute race (£60 inc vat)

I am therefore proposing the 'Daytona Challenge' is what we go for.

We need 20 names to be able to book this so I have amended the list below to those who wish to drive, obviously spectators are more than welcome.

PLEASE add/remove your name from the list dependant on your wishing to take part, the date for this will be Saturday 18th October I cannot secure a time till I book but am hoping for an afternoon slot.

To book I will need a 50% deposit from everyone, I will not be booking till I have everybody's money, I will look at the list at 1800 Monday 11th Aug if there are 20 names I will pm everyone asking for their deposits, the remaining 50% is due no later than 10 days prior to the event (8th Oct)

One point to note is that if we have anybody drop out after their deposit is paid it will not be returned, furthermore if that leaves us with less than 20 drivers the remaining drivers will have to cover the additional cost.

i.e. If 1 driver drops out the shortfall of £37.50 will be divided between the other 19 (£2) and if 4 drivers drop out the shortfall of £140 will be divided between the other 16 (£8.75) so it is important to remember this when putting your name down.

Obviously if we still have 20 drivers with any drop-outs the price will stay the same, I think it only fair to point this out from the start as I will not be making up any shortfall out of my own pocket.

Hopefully we can get 20 names down so this will go ahead, it would be nice to find out VPC's best driver when the cars/karts are (almost) the same
