Air conditioning fault

It's been a while since I've been on here as I have now passed my V70 into retirement - as my Wife's child wagon!

Anyway, my name's James, and I have an Air-Con issue on a D5....

I noticed it last year, and by the time I started looking into the problem, it stopped bothering me and I had other things to worry about.

When it's quite a hot day, the aircon blows ice cold (had it re-gassed last year to try to fix the problem), however after a period of time it suddenly goes all hot and humid. It seems to be temperature related, as if the condenser is not working as well as it should, because it happens sooner if in stop start traffic compared to driving on an A-Road, and if it's a hot day compared to a mild day. On days of 20-25C it doesn't really go wrong.

To get A/C working again you have to turn off the A/C for about 10-15 mins, then it will switch back on and blow ice cold again until it happens all over again.

I've plgged Vida into it and there's no climate related faults. Any suggestions?

IMHO classic clutch gap problem. You'll need a new compressor or the 'bread clip' mod which has successfully fixed the compressor on my 850. No garage will want to undertake this for you as they will just want to fit new parts. Before this on my D5 I just fitted a second hand compressor off an S60R (makes the D5 quicker...) AFAIK all P2 compressors are the same.
