    Quick tidy up 850 T5

N/S of the car has always had bad paint, lacquer peel, car drove into it etc. Tailgate rotten, bumper damaged due to several parking related misjudgements. Wheels on N/S throughly kerbbed through forgetting which side of the car the steering wheel is on.

Sourced 2 doors, V70 tailgate, rear bumper plus finally some decent roof trims.

    The rig.

Not many pictures of the bad paint.

Rear bumper mounts and bolts rotten, originals cut off, new oem ones fitted.

Had to swap out the insides as new doors had wind ups.

    Stripped off some bits myself.

Still need to put the wing moulding on but need new clips, did give the rest of the car a quick pass with the mop (g220) but need to do it properly when its not raining.

    That looks the dogs danglies!

Did you do all the paint work yourself? Having seen both you and Pete do really good "home" paint jobs I'm starting to wonder if I could actually be taught the right technique.

I'm guessing not using rattles cans and alot of patience is a good start???
Arguing is pointless....she may not be right but she's never wrong

Tell her a remap is just having your satnav updated.....

Spent more time eating hot dogs than actually working on the car.

95% of the hard work and to get a good finish is all in the prep work and keeping things clean and tidy I know my painting skills will never be as good as a professional service but its more than passable and at the end of the day as long as your happy with it who care most of all the self achievement of doing it is best of all.
One thing to note if you do need advice notosh is the man to talk to he's been outstanding with the advice and help

Cheers, turned out better than expected, had been painted previous to my ownership and really was awful, tops of the doors were white and also had micro blistering down the whole side.

Thanks for all the positive comments, wasn't sure if it was worth spending the money it on really but glad I did now .

Sorting out the front brakes next weekend, fitting two new cailpers, 302 discs, new flexi's Volvo pads and fluid change all round.
