ignition barrel change

come someone give me a "how to" on changing the ignition barrel on a v70 and what has to be done about the immobilizer?

got a spinning barrel and its getting to the stage where its just not gonna start

Is it not just the switch on the back of the barrell?. That's easy enough to replace.

ive yet to open it up to be honest, suppose id better do that first lol

Switch is on the back of the barrell bud, it's held in place with two torx screws.

wont know its knackered unless i have another one though i suppose?

Undo the switch, try turning the switch with a screwdriver, if it goes to the start position and then springs back then there's nothing wrong with the switch. Check the back of the barrel, there should be a key shaped protrusion that fits into the switch, if this is damaged or broken then the barrell needs replacing bud.
