I wrapped mine, was time consuming but gave a reasonable finish as far as temp measures go. Only option is to get new ones, Volvo sell them for 400£ ish I think, second hand there about 20-30£ but good luck finding decent ones, took me a while. Mite be able to use v70 ones but I haven't tried it.

Thanks for that. Thought I'd heard of p1 v70 ones being used. Had thought about having them wrapped so will speak to a guy that does it local to me if its a good enough finish.

I wrapped mine the whole way round but I'm sure someone who does what there doing could just do the top, maybe Carbon look of that's your thing.

Why not take them off, sand them down and paint or powdercoat them? They'd look like new then... but be £380 cheaper

Well, it seems that it isn't remapped after all.
After replacing some of the vacuum lines for Silicone ones it is now only boosting 1/2 way into the white band on the dash.
The hoses i took off literally fell off and i can only guess that they were acting as a form of bleed valve to the actuator.
At least i know it's not 'overboosting' in relation to fuel map any more.
    Feels slower though :-(

Will be on the lookout for remap soon now

Like your thinking but need to get the ECU thinking right first.

The wheels suit the car really well!
With the roof rails, mine were looking fairly ordinary too. We simply got the chunkier set from a '98-'00 V70XC (also the same as '00 V70 R and other models) and I got them painted in a matte finish which was the same colour as my wheels (though the wheels are gloss) and, while metallic, it blends in well with the normal grey.

I'm still waiting on the trim to suit the chunkier rails, but you get the idea -

The colour is Ford FPV Dark Argent

I purchased a 96 Turquoise 850 T5 recently, claimed '304 BHP Rica Map'.. I'll be honest I'm not sure what 300 hp feels like as my last car was a 195 something BHP 2.5t... and it certainly feels psychotic in comparison, wheelspins far too much to be sensible for my wallet! I wish cars came with a rolling road readout by law if they got sold under claimed HP increases / maps so it can put us plebs mind at rest !
