Took a chance and bought a set of the pro sport coilovers. Also got some powerflex bushes for the lower arms. Transformed is and understatement.

Spot on to be fair, no knocks, no bangs, no new rattles.
It's harder than the previous but not as harsh, I think it was knackered. It had kyb shock absorbers so it's had new ones at some point.
I kept the oem spring cup and bearing on the front as I wasn't comfortable with how it fitted without the spring cup.
Also the lower arm bushes were pretty much none existent!!! The centre fell put they were that worn! The arms were non genuine, stamped with 11/2011, so I expect they were last changed sometime around then.
New discs and pads as well, needed new caliper carrier bolts from volvo as the previous owner had rounded them off (explains why there was new pads but old discs).
Also sprung a water leak at the back of the engine, identified it as the small hose connecting the turbo coolant return banjo line to the header tank pipe. £9.78 Inc clips from volvo, special order but arrived next day.
All in a happy couple of weeks on the 850

Genuine all round I see! How are the prosport coilovers a few months on now? Bought some Bilsteins and getting round to fitting them some point, fitted with my Kilen 40mm 'sport' springs is low enough..

They are pretty good to be fair. No problems with them. It handles like it's on rails and is no firmer than I expected.

I always try and use genuine maintenance parts where possible and for the price difference it wasn't worth going for pattern stuff. £48 delivered for 4L coolant and thermostat.
