    maf sensor?

Hi again guys my v70 T5 is doing bit hunting when idling, I went to try and clean the maf sensor after reading up on it on here, I can't get it off at the jubilee clip end, is there a knack to it? Pretty sure after reading that's this is what the problem is I may just buy a new sensor anyway where's the bestsellers or even better anyone got a spare lying around?

Thanks in advance guys this forums been amazing in the past

there is no knack mate just rip it out you need power that's it when its off give it a clean with some contact cleaner. if that doesn't work try cleaning your etm its a pain to do if your not handy with the tools but its a big one out the way.

MAF is held in by one or two torques screws. Then sealed with a very soft O-ring. It will prise out quite easily.

He means 'security torx' not normal Torx screws. normal Torx won't fit.

Get yer self down ECP's and buy a set of 1/4" drive security torx sockets set for £17. Then you won't have to bugger about trying to undo the jubilee clamp all the time. Much quicker and easier, as JUDGE says, easily comes out.

Both are a little double Dutch to me, what action is needed or will it have to go to a garage?

I would clear the codes and drive for 50 miles and see if they come back.

You need to leave it a few days before re checking codes. At least 50 miles driving.
