    What exhaust do I need for a 16t and 250bhp on a 940?

    Hi

I have a 98 2.3 lptwhich I plan to upgrade to a 16t turbo with the aim of reaching 250bhp.

What exhaust do I need. 3"/2.5 inch, cat back or just remove rear box and put a big pipe on?

Looking to keep reasonanle fuel economy as this is the daily driver to carry our little baby!

    Thank you

The rear box is power sapping so I would put a straight throw silencer on it or just a pipe .2.5 in exhaust will be fine for 250bhp .if you want it to go quicker then sort the axle ratio out .normslly the locker diff is a 3.31 or open diff is a 3.54. How to check to see if you have a locker is to jack the axle off the floor a spin one wheel.if both spin in the same direction you have a locker.you can change the axle to a 3.73 locker witch will make the car a lot quicker .

Unfortunately it is an open diff

How do you identify a 3.73 locker and which models was it fitted to?

    Thanks

The is a sticker on the n/s axle tube that tells you diff type and size too .you are after one off an auto that runs a 3.73 1041 locker .the torslander surposed to have then standard and the sport too .but they was an option on later models .keep an eye out for ones being broken for spares
