Not sure where the fuse is, thread about self-adjusting lights here...

they dont move at all. Dont move when first switched on or when full beam is on, thats whats making think its a power issue
Is it an R model or a T5?

Have they got self-levelling lights. I thought they relied on the nivomats to keep the car/lights level
its a t5
Yeah has a single sensor on the rear to control the height
if the car has self-levelling suspension then they don't need to do anything with the headlights to keep them level. As Volvo have had the Nivomat mechanically self-levelling shock absorbers for quite a few years i'm surprised they bothered changing it, not really a P2 man so first of heard of the sensor or motorised light levelling

It'll only have self levelling headlights if it has Xenons fitted, as it's a legal requirement.
Correct! If the car has Nivomat rear shocks then it won't have adjustable or auto leveling lights by means of a level sensor or any attachment to the rear suspension.
If the dash has a level switch that makes the lights go up and down then the car won't have auto level control by means of a level sensor or attachment on the rear suspension.
If the lights are OEM xenon or Bi-Xenon (as the V70R/S60R models) then there won't be a level switch on the dash and there definitely will be a height/level sensor on the rear suspension. Small component that looks like a 'dogs leg'.
These have been known to work loose and come undone, so if your headlights are not going up/down on start up (as the V70R/S60R models do) then this would be my first port of call. Mine came loose a couple of years ago....so definitely worth checking.

Dave_Mito can you post a picture of your dash light switch please?

will get a pic later, but its not got the aim adjustment on it.
Its got factory zenons with the level sensor.
When you say the sensor works loose, do you mean the wiring plug?. Does this stop the adjusment on first start up, by not having a complete circuit sort of idea??
If it's factory xenons with no manual adjuster next to the headlight switch, then you need to check the security of the height sensor on the rear suspension. Would be best to undo the end fitting and actually check that the sensor itself moves up/down. Lubricate with WD if you want.
You could remove the sensor plug and check for corrosion. Give it a good clean out with electrical cleaner. Be careful as the plastic plug will be brittle due to its location. You could check for either 12v or 5v at the plug. I suspect it will be 5v as it will get that voltage from the module.
If all that looks good then you'll need to consult your local dealer/Indy.
Does yours have basic 4C switch? if so, I don't think there is a fuse for the light leveling because it's controlled by the SUM.
If the fuse is not in your owners manual then that answers your question.
Oh, and just incase you were thinking about it.... do not power up the plug at the level sensor. If you do, you will fry the Module!
