What brake set up are you running?

I bought mine with them already been changed, but it's only standard stuff. If I'm to venture down the more power route, and considering I've already ordered the usual breathing mods, that seems quite likely Then I'd like to put some uprated stuff on it.
So, what are you using? Experience with other pad/disc combos? Are the standard brakes actually up to the job or do people go bigger of another spec car?

    Lets hear it

302mm with good pads is the best you'll get without selling a kidney to fund it I'm afraid.

its a lot easier to go big with the P2 cars as there's the XC90 to rob stuff from. Sadly, the P2 stuff won't fit on the older models.

For best results you want 302mm discs & carriers mate.
They were fitted to the p1 v70/s70 r models.
I had genuine discs & ferrodo ds500 pads.
I never experienced brake fade even at high speeds.
It's worth up rating the pipes & a fluid change.
Mine were awesome for basically oe stuff.

You can still buy 302 carriers from volvo for £40

but you will need to part ex your old carriers in.

330mm AP's up front with DS2500 pads. Standard rears with DS2500. Braking is excellent, although I am assured that it could be much better with Carbotech pads.

I have previously found the 302's with DS2500 or Yellowstuff to be pretty good as well.

302's with Volvo discs and Ferrodo DS2500's with braided brake lines all round and a decent system flush with fresh fluid make for a good set up if your not venturing too far from standard.

Any further in your power travels and you will need to go bigger, I found the limit of mine and am currently having the AP big brake upgrade on the front and S60R rear brake set up on the rear to improve stopping performance. Yes it costs but you won't get better brakes than that cheaper on an 850 unfortunately ...

Cheers gents! So my standard calipers on the larger carriers, with 302mm discs and a good set of pads? Good fluid and some braided lines will be used of course

Oh, and will this set up fit under standard T5 wheels? I'm unsure what wheels to go for so they'll be staying until I make up my mind.

they fit under the Perfo alloys

    edit

I don't think they will work with Columba alloys...
