    Question Top mount

Any advice on fitting a powerflex engine top mount? still have some old bits of the OEM mount stuck into the hole.

Have you taken the shell from the old bush out yet? It's got a hard plastic or metal sleeve (can't remember) that needs to come out.
I'd use a hacksaw and cut through the sleeve and lever it out with a screwdriver.

What's happened with yours is, the rubber middle has fallen apart and left the outer shell inside the bracket Click for reference, you need that shell out before you can fit the poly in there

This is how I'd do it...

    Cut the sleeve...

Pry it out with a screwdriver...

Ok, that was on a wishbone bush but the principle is the same

Dunno about the round one but the newer cross shaped one was a doddle to fit used to screwdrivers to leaver the old one out then the new one fitted very easily

I used a wood chisel to break up the old shell, as it's only plastic, when fitting the new one, one half will go in easily, the other half won't, I used a longer nut and bolt with a couple of decent sized washers, and wound it into place, a bit of copper grease helps too.

mate it proper did my head in in the end I had to take the bracket of and clamp it on one side and stand on the other took me a fair while to get in, iirc one side went in ok but the other side no chance, mine is the black series if that makes any difference
