How far down is the first ring from the top ?.
Just hope they are ok at least the valves stayed in one bit.

ive been offered a head, im worried if i spend out on reconditioning it and buying another new head set it still wont work
the gauges aint that deep
i would clean the contact marks off the pistons the put another complete head on, the quickest and easiest option in my opinion frankie
If you decide to use them, make sure you dremil any sharp points to make sure they don't create any hot spots.

Look at wobbly's disasters over the past 12 month's, the potential's there, just needs some enthusiasm.

They look like vauxhall pistons now but I'd just clean them up & bang the head back on.

If you can get the head cheap, then it's got to be worth a go, but you'll always have that nagging feeling that it could fail again, not necesssarily the cambelt, but the fact all pistons have been hit (hard) could make it a ticking time bomb. Good luck with whatever you decide mate.
I`d clean the marks off the pistons and put another head on

Sorry, I thought you'd been offered a decent head, even so, still cheaper than a new engine, although, there's no guarantee just changing the head will work. Unfortunately, you're backed into a corner to a certain degree, as breaking the car won't yield the sort of money a complete, working car will, I just hope you can sort it as cheaply as possible.
