    testing actuator and dump valve

    Hello. Is there any way of testing these to see why the boost aint holding pressure.
    I don't break gearboxes. Just engine mounts.............

    I have an actuator testing rig, it's nothing special but it does work.

    Easy way to test the dv would be to remove it and bung the hole, see how the car behaves.
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    Does the turbo have to come off to remove the dv.

    Shame ur at the other side of the country. Or I would be there at weekend to test it.

    Is it a dump valve you're referring to or the recirc valve that's attached to the turbo?

    The recirc can be tested with the actuator tester to some extent.

    If you have a recirculating valve to test.......just follow back the hose that goes back to the inlet manifold from it and remove it from the spigot and just suck on the hose and put it on your tongue....if it drops off it`s leaking!!

    I`ll be make a rig to test my DV out of some old pipe fittings.

    1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

    It is a re circ valve off the turbo.

    silly question 960 kg. To do this test with engine running or not.
    I don't break gearboxes. Just engine mounts.............

    Question. ...... if the actuator was knackered.....would it still be trying to deliver 1 bar of boost

    The ecu would be using the tcv to try and compensate mate.
