Why am I a Volvo hater, I think the V70R is a lovely looking car but if it was a toss up between that and an RS4 the Audi gets my vote. If I could afford an RS4 as a daily car the M3 would be gone lol.
If you think all M3's are only worth £6000 how on earth do you think your red 850r is worth £4300?

Guys guys guys, this wasn't meant to be a which is the better car thread, I merely stated what I'd like my next car to be. Fact is, a 2007 sonic blue V70R auto is much rarer than an RS4 in any guise, so my point was, if I can't have that I would settle for an any spec RS4 avant.
I know they're ££££ loads more money but that wasn't the point. The R is the rarer and more comfy. The RS4 is way more money to run so would not be my ideal.
I know the RS4 is faster, way faster but it will never be as exclusive or turn heads like a mint R!

Speaking about turning heads, Adrienne was in the chippy and I was sat in the R two guys in the chippy apparently couldn't stop talking about the V70,

To me unless you know what your looking for most people wouldnt notice the difference between a silver v70 and a silver v70r. A rs4 on the other hand its in your face. But two totally different motors. Volvo R is a hybrid between a cruiser with some sportish looks but its not a out right sports saloon or estate like the audi so its not fair fair to compare them both together

I google like this: "S60R geartronic -problems -breakdowns -suicide"

RS cars are pretty good, but the money you need to spend for a decent one is a different league. I was thinking about an RS6 C5.....but the running costs and horror stories killed the idea. Later ones are better but big money.

A group of kids walked past my V70R once and I heard 'look, it's an 'R'! That must be fast as ££££!'. No kids, it's an AWD auto only quick up to 20 mph

The S60 is going to be a daily so assuming all goes to plan, like I actually get to the country where it's for sale and it's a decent one, the geartronic isn't putting me off. Better read up on the servicing mentioned by Lee & others above!

13 m turning circle what is that about?

I know it's just throwing numbers around...but...if a stage 1 is a remap only, and a stage 2 is remap plus full exhaust....

    TME stage 1 = 310 hp
    RICA stage 1 = 330 hp, 450 Nm
    BSR stage 1 = ?
    MTE stage 1 = 330 hp?

    TME stage 2 = ?
    RICA stage 2 = ?
    BSR stage 2 = 354 hp, 493 Nm
    MTE stage 2 = 365 hp?

    Also….comparison between RICA and BSR

I need to find out about these ‘softloader’ things.

That was my point. I thought it a bit strange two totally different cars on his short list. If he had said something like the following were on his short list, v70r, s4 Audi avant, bmw 330 estate etc' I wouldn't of made a comment.

Firstly - don't take the reported figures on their websites as realistic, although with the R, they're a bit closer than they state for the T5.

Softloaders are easy... Log into the BSR website, download the software to the handset, plug handset into the OBD socket, press go, wait 5 minutes... done.

Thanks fella, I was just trying to get an idea of what was realistic

I like the idea of this plugging stuff in - I'm reading up on the RICA stuff. I wonder can you swap between maps as you change stuff......

No. It's one map, one car, one VIN.

I had the remap on my me7 c70t5, made it very smooth, but when I sold the car, I gave it away in the sale as has been said, it's specific for that car. I had the BSR one iirc.

TME stage 2.....365 hp at 6700 rpm and 500 Nm at 4000 rpm

Sounds OK to me! Probably just about the same as MTE

Our last remap was an ECU out job, so that's not a problem, going all the way to Sweden is. Lol

yeah, I just mention it as I was a bit wary of posting my S70 ECU all the way to Sweden then waiting for it to come back. But come back it did! I did the same to the Netherlands for the 460 and 480 units, same again no probs.

No idea what is the cost though.......I'll ask if & when I get the S60

Try Shark in Mansfield. Good results I've heard.

It's an AWD thing. Due to the limitations on the transfer box (Angle gear).
if you try to 'front end in first' you'll not get in. Forget it. When parking it's arse end first, then you'll always get in. You get used to it.
