back in the prehistoric days of 1994, when the first T-5's wheelspan off the production line. They had alot straighter & more direct pipework for the turbo, this is whats known as the Reverse Intercooler Pipework (RIP kit for short). Some countries in the cold climates had issues with the throttle body freezing with this system, so Volvo changed it to current style

Right got it now, basically more direct airflow cutting out all the excess pipework! Where can these be bought from?
Or do you have to custom build them?

I think some of the pipes have been discontinued from Volvo. I use aluminium tubing & silicone joints, u do need a 19mm porting welding in for the idle control valve

I am re doing all the intake pipework as part of the project anyway, had already planned to make some custom stainless, coupled with Samco or other silicone joints.

What difference did this mod make to your car?
