    D5 Purchased!!

Today I have been mostly buying a D5!

Here's a sneak preview of my new baby, I won't have her until the end of the week, but I had a fairly extensive test drive and I love it! You can just spot my 850 behind trying to get her nose into the pic too.

Hi - Its actually a very dark grey, so hopefully it should be less of a b!tch to keep clean than black, but I think it suits the car very well. It's all black in side with black leather and very dark "rosewood" trim, it even smells new.

Yes Mop, a long week indeed!!!

    Cool

    Very smart.
I once got nearly 700 miles to the tank in mine, and nice performance to, oh and great seats.

Give us a run down of the test drive then? How it feels? Comparison to the T5?

    Ok...

Off the line it's nowhere near as quick as the T5 (yet ), but mid-range it really pulls. The driving position/experience is completely unlike the 850, so it's hard to give a like for like comparison at the moment!

The seats are more comfortable, and the dash layout is better than the 850. Everything is where you'd expect it to be! You sit much higher, and the visibility compared to the 850 estate is poor, but thats the only negative I found (apart from the tractor sounding engine )

It feels a lot more solid, but then it is nearly 10 years newer!!

The Pro Logic stereo is absolutely awesome.

Oh yeah, and it was WELL into the red on the fuel gauge, but I still had nearly 100 miles remaining on the tank! Haha, wonderful!

I love it, well worth the money!

I will post a better comparison once I've got the car!

Darren, Looks pretty damn cool - debadge - change the exhaust tip and no one need know its a tractor

Just joshing - but seriously she's a lovely looking thing. You'll need descent alloy wheel cleaner for those babys.

I guess one day even I will concede on the fuel cost issue and buy a D5. Think I would have a P2 V70 though.

Well done - like tash said - this week is gonna be a long one.

Just out of interest what was the dealer asking price for this one?

Working from Parkers etc when I was buying my car never seemed to provide a true picture!
