Gearbox issues

Right heres one for you all, hope you can help.

driving yesterday and car wont come out of 2nd gear, forced it out and managed to get it into 5th.
when in gear it pulls ok, doesnt slip or anything it feels normal.
but issue is with engine running and clutch down it wont go into gear when i try to put it into 1st it trys to creep forwards same in every gear.
with engine off i can select every gear fine.
when driving i have to double clutch to get it into gear but its hard work.
is it master cylinder or slave or might it just need a bleed as i didnt do it when doing rear pipes.(that was about 2k ago).

Sounds like the slave cylinder may have gone, you could try bleeding it first, but generally they don't suddenly get air in them unless the seals go, have you noticed any oil under the car when it's been parked up for a while, also has the brake fluid level gone down?

always have oil under it slight leak, but engine oil and know where thats from.
fluids not gone down at all. thats what i dont get.

might bleed it through first see wha it does, whats best way to bleed to through
strange how it just went.

I'm not sure as they're a bit tempermental if they're not bled correctly, hopefully someone in the know will be able to tell you.

Hope someone knows as its a unhealthy volvo at the moment.
